F.R.E.E. is aware that other organizations exist which
sanction and verify world records in freediving under
their own set of rules. F.R.E.E. is also aware that
any athlete may choose to have his/her attempt verified
by an organization other than F.R.E.E. and that several
performances have been officialized by those organizations
in categories which are quite similar in essence to
those sanctioned by F.R.E.E. Although F.R.E.E does not
recognize any records set under rules other than its
own as official, we have the utmost respect for the
athletes that have attempted and set these records.
And out of this respect, we strongly encourage all those
athletes requesting verification from FREE to attempt
a record in any of the categories marked as OPEN, where
it is known that a performance has been achieved under
the verification of any other of these organizations,
to set the Goal Depth of their attempt so that it improves
on such unofficial performance.
As a sign of our respect and admiration for those athletes
that have established World Records, and which we have
been fortunate enough to verify, F.R.E.E has committed
the following space to show a comprehensive account
of each and every one of these records. The Freediver
and his/her Organizing Committee are bound to submit
photos and text describing the events surrounding their
accomplishment if they want to make use of this service.
As a standard procedure, we will enclose copies of all
the official documents issued between F.R.E.E and the
Organizing Committee to this section, so they are available
for the public scrutiny. We will maintain the account
of each of these records posted on our site for at least
ninety (90) days after our acceptance of the record
has become official. |
